Main purpose of the workshop: The Kickoff workshop will bring awareness on the project which is about capacity building on strategic management of ICT in the Public sector, mainly MDAs. It is linked to Tanzania e-government strategies objective no.2 (HR Capacity improved by 2012) that among others put emphasis on ICT management competencies and selected technical skills. Specifically it focuses on creating awareness to increase level of understanding amongst IT and business management on the true potential of ICT to transform the public services delivery process. It also focuses on producing well trained management personnel on ICT management; and equips ICT/Business management to develop and use standard approaches to strategic planning and governance of ICT in the Public sector.
